Do Good Anyway

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.” ~ Mother Teresa

People who really need what you have to offer likely don’t have the present capacity to acknowledge you for your efforts. Don’t do good for the credit, do good because that’s who we were created to be.

Time Invested

Posted: August 28, 2018 in Uncategorized

“Invest your time in what will give you the greatest return.” ~ Jeffrey Gitomer

Jeffrey Gitomer is a respected author and sales trainer… his quote is to encourage you to invest your time to be a better salesperson. But the application crosses all spectrums.

In what part of your life do you want the greatest return? With your spouse? With your kids? With your relationship with God? Personal development in your own life?

Where are you currently investing the bulk of your time? The news? Mindless TV? Politics? Sports?

The cool thing is, you get to decide. So, maybe it’s time to change things up a bit?

Seeing Things

“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” ~ Camille Pissarro

Visually speaking, it’s important that we roam about the earth with intention; paying attention, with our eyes. We miss so much of the beauty of life when we just trod through our daily tasks.

When’s the last time you stopped to ponder a blade of grass, or a rock, or an insect, or a cloud in the sky? Or, the expression on a strangers face, or the laughter from a child?

Change

“The inevitable evolution of our planetary, professional and individual systems revolve around an axis of change. We can either transform a resistance or remain perturbed and stubborn.” ~ David Ault

We have become so addicted to comfortable that the slightest change becomes deeply disruptive. The resulting feelings have a negative impact, not only our psyche, but our physical health as well.

Change usually isn’t as bad as we think it is going to be. What if, the next time you’re faced with change, you consider the possibilities optimistically instead of with fear, anxiety and frustration?

“Few people actually receive big calls. Most of the calls we receive, and ignore, are the proverbial still small voices that the biblical prophets heard, or the daily calls to pay attention to our intuitions, to be authentic, to live by our own code of honor … The great breakthroughs in our lives generally happen only as a result of the accumulation of innumerable small steps and minor achievements.” ~ Gregg Levoy (Callings)
